I’ve always been fascinated with the topic of intelligence. As a child my mother refer to me as “smart”, but I soon discovered that parents find their children are so smart. Over time, I would say that not all children are smart, like all babies are not funny. If this were the case, we would have a world full of not nice, intelligent people – we do. Some of us are smart, but not as smart as we think, and some are wiser than they seem, that I wonder how we can define, smart? What makes one person smarter than others? When “is street” smarts matter more than “book smarts”? Can you both smart and stupid? More smart influenced by genetics or your environment, then there are the issues of education, intelligence and wisdom. What it means for well-trained? What is the difference between highly educated and intelligent? This is highly trained automatically mean that you are very intelligent? Can you feel very intelligent, without higher education? Is IQ really do something about it? What makes a man wise? Why is the wisdom of the rule is associated with age? My wish, answers to these questions you will find many hours of intensive investigation, inspired that the reading of the six books contain hundreds of documents from the investigation and countless hours on the Internet, pales in comparison to die to the life of the pioneers in the field trials and studies of intelligence and education, as Howard Gardner, Richard Sternberg, Linda S. Gottfredson, Thomas Sowell, Alfie Kohn, Diane F. Halpern and their work cited in this article. My goal was simple: collect, synthesize, and define data about what it means to be intelligent, educated and intelligent, then it can be understood and used by anyone for their benefit. Prenatal care

In this sense, there was no one better (or more appropriate) place to start than at the beginning of our existence: as a fetus in the womb. There is a reason why they call it “prenatal”, that is shared, existing, or performed before birth. There is growing evidence that eating foods rich in iron, both before and during pregnancy is crucial for the construction of the prenatal brain. Researchers have a strong association between low iron levels during pregnancy and reduced IQ found. Foods are rich in iron Lima beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, spinach, asparagus, broccoli, shellfish, nuts, dried fruit, oatmeal, and fortified cereals. Children with low iron status in utero (in utero) scored lower on every test and prenatal had significantly lower language skills, fine motor skills and traceability as children with higher iron content. In essence, a good prenatal care for the development of cognitive skills of critical importance. Cognitive skills

Cognitive skills are the basic mental abilities we use to think, learn and study. They cover a wide range of mental processes used to analyze the sounds and images, information recall from memory, make connections between different information, retention and focus on specific tasks. They can be individually identified and measured. Cognitive abilities and energy efficiency correlates directly with the students’ ease of learning. Drinking, pregnancy and her intellectual IMPACT

Drinking during pregnancy is not smart. In fact, it’s just stupid. A study in Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research has shown that even light to moderate drinking – especially during the second trimester – is with a lower IQ in offspring related to 10 years. This result was especially pronounced among African-American rather than Caucasian offspring. “IQ is a measure of the child’s ability to learn and survive in their environment. It predicts the likelihood of success in school and in everyday life. Although a small but significant proportion of children diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) of each year, more children to alcohol during pregnancy, said not exposed to the criteria for FAS yet experience deficits in growth and cognitive function, “Will Jennifer A. Ford, assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Paul D. Connor, clinical director of the Fetal Alcohol and Drug Unit and Assistant Professor in the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington has to say this on this subject: “There are a number of domains of cognitive function that even deterioration in the face of a relatively normal IQ, including academic achievement (especially arithmetic), adaptive functioning and executive functions (the ability to solve problems and learn from experiences). deficits in intellectual, achievement, adaptive, and executive functions may make it difficult to properly manage finances, function independently, without assistance, and the consequences – or respond adequately to play – error. “This is an important finding speaks directly to the nozzle (psychological) definition of intelligence, later in this article. ULTRA SOUNDS

Studies have shown that frequent exposure of the fetus with ultrasound is associated with a decrease in newborn body weight, an increased frequency of left-handedness and delayed language. Because energy is an ultrasonic high-frequency mechanical vibrations, the hypothesis that researchers could influence the migration of neurons in a developing fetus. Neurons in mammals multiply early fetal development and then migrate to their final destinations. Any failure or interruption of the process could lead to abnormal brain function. Commercial companies (who knows Ultrasound for “Souvenir” purposes) are now more powerful ultrasound equipment suitable conventional 3D and 4D images. However, the process takes longer when a 30-minute video of the fetus in the womb, try it. The mainstream magazine “New Scientist” reported the following: ultrasound, cells stop parts and makes them commit suicide. Routine scans, doctors have PEEK in fetuses and internal organs in the past 40 years to the normal cell cycle. The website of the FDA is aware of this information Ultrasound: Ultrasound is true there has been around for many years, pregnant women and their families should know that the long-term effects of repeated ultrasound exposures on the fetus completely known. In light of all that remains unknown, with a prenatal ultrasound for non-medical reasons is not a good idea. Nature vs. nurture. . . The debate continues

Now that you aware of some of the known determinants, and improve the impact of the intellectual development of the fetus, it is time for conception. Once the baby is born, the more will be crucial in the development of their minds, nature (genetics) or maintain (environmental)? Apparently centuries, scientists and psychologists have gone around and at that point. I read many comprehensive studies and reports on the subject during the investigation, according to this article, and I think it is time for this debate to rest. Both nature and nurture equally important and must be fully in the intellectual development of children are observed. This should never enter an either / or proposition – why the risk? A recent study shows that early intervention in the home and in class can make a big difference for a child born to do in extreme poverty, according to Eric Turkheimer, a psychologist at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The study concludes that while the genetic make-up, most of the differences explained in IQ for children in wealthier families, the environment – not genes – a difference of more children from low-income minorities. In particular, what the researchers “inheritance” – the extent to which genes influence IQ call – was significantly lower for poor families. “Once you put in an appropriate environment to take to start your genes,” Mr. Turkheimer said, “but in poor environments, genes do not have that ability.” But there are reports that these results are contradictory. . . Species. Linda S. Gottfredson, a professor of Education at the University of Delaware, wrote in her article, The General Intelligence Factor environments shared by siblings have little to do with IQ. Many people mistakenly believe th
at there is still social, psychological, and economic differences between the families and remaining differences in IQ They found that changes relate behavioral geneticists to such effects on the environment, as “shared” because they are common to siblings who to grow together. His reports that the heritability of IQ increases with age, that is the extent, increases to the genetics of the differences in IQ between individuals with increasing age. In her article she refers to studies of identical and fraternal twins, published in the last decade by a group of Thomas J. Bouchard LED, Jr., University of Minnesota and other scholars, shows that about 40 percent of IQ differences between children from genetic differences based, but that the heritability increases to 60 percent and 80 percent by late adolescence through adulthood. And this is perhaps the most interesting information and for that part of my article: With age, differences between the individuals to develop their intelligence, to give accurate reflection of their genetic differences. It seems that the effects of fading of the environment on intelligence, rather than to grow with time. Bouchard noted that young children the circumstances of her life to her by parents, schools and other servants of the carrier imposed, but as people grow older they become more independent and have the tendency to look for niches in life that are most likely related to their genetic propensities. Breastfeeding INCREASES INTELLIGENCE

Researchers at the Christchurch School of Medicine in New Zealand examined more than 1,000 children from April to August 1977 born. During the period from birth up to one year, they collected information about how these children were fed. The children were followed for 18 years. Over the years, the researchers collected a range of cognitive and academic information about the children, including IQ, teacher ratings of school performance in reading and mathematics, and the results of standardized tests of reading, mathematics and academic skills. The researchers also saw the number of grades in school by the national certificate examinations at the end of the third year reached at the High School. The results showed that more children had been breastfed, the higher it is achieved in these tests. Talking to your children makes a difference

Thomas Sowell, author of Race, IQ, Black Crime, Liberals ignore the facts and discovered some fascinating information that all parents should be aware. He writes: “There is a strong argument that black Americans suffer from a range of adverse environments. Studies repeatedly show that before they go to school, are black children are exposed on average to a smaller vocabulary than white children, in part to socio-economic factors. While the children exposed to professional households in the rule to a total capacity of 2,150 different words a day, exposed to children of working class households by 1250, and children from households on the welfare of a mere 620th Yes, smart-sounding children are often more from well-trained, professional, two-parent environments Pickup valuable language skills and vocabulary of their smart-sounding people. Mr. Sowell: Black children are of course not to blame for their poor socio-economic status, but something beyond economic status is at work in black real estate. Black people are not signed for the “Great Commission” of the white middle class – the constant quest for spiritual growth and get their child into Harvard or OxbridgeElsie Moore of Arizona State University, Phoenix, studied black children of black or white parents who all were middle class professionals. Up to the age of 7 years. five years, in black homes were 13 IQ points to be raised in white behind the houses. ACCUMULATED BENEFITS

At this point in my research, I realized, and should rather be able to clear that many children are destined to be intelligent, educated and intelligent, just their exposure to the most influential factors pulmonary What you themself before school started. A well-informed parents, good prenatal care, skilled, communicative parents and a loving environment to live in by all to accumulated benefits in the formulation of intellectual abilities. As you can see, some kids have an unfair advantage from the start. Malcolm Gladwell, author of the bestselling book outliers, wrote that “accumulated benefits” are possible by arbitrary rules. . . and such an unfair advantage are everywhere. “Those who are successful, most likely by the nature of the social opportunities that will lead to more success,” he writes. “It is the rich the biggest tax benefits. It is the best students the best education and the most attention.” In this sense, we focus on education and intelligence. What does the well educated?

Alfie Kohn, author of What It does trained? The question arises, relates the term to a well-trained quality of education to make, or something you? Is it to show what you have learned? Or what do you remember? I say that everything is well trained in the application, implementation and use of information. to use information to create knowledge, and how we have all heard, knowledge is power. Most people are aware of the battle state of education in this country on a certain level. We tell our children that nothing is more important than to be a “good” education, and every year because of state budget shortfalls, teachers are dismissed, classes are condensed, are closed, schools and many educational programs – especially to help those at the disadvantaged – be cut. The reality is that we do not really value education. We value it as a company, an industry, political ammunition, and was accepted as a form of discrimination, but not for what was intended: a means to enrich his character and life through learning. What we offer value as a society, the athletes and the entertainment. The fact that an athlete makes more money than most teachers in a season in all regions to make in their career is shameful. There is always money to build new stadiums, but never raise enough for a decent teacher (and deserves). Ironically, the best teachers in the profession have not, go for the money. They learn because it is a profession. Most of them were affected by very good teachers and pupils. With the mass exodus of teachers, many students are not able to support these relationships, if they could, as many leave the job voluntarily – involuntarily to maintain and – within three years. At secondary level, where I start, the emphasis is on not how to prepare the student for life, or even College (all secondary schools should be college-prep school, right?) It was on the preparation of them in Excel their standardized tests. Then the controversial “exit” tests were performed and were literally many high schools in test centers. Learning is almost secondary. This mentality carries over to college, there are of course you have to do to register a Test (SAT or ACT). This explains why so many students are more involved in the completion of a course, then learn it. They are focused on obtaining “A” grades, but more skilled thinker. The last of these in greater demand by employers and covers most of the self. The “Get-the-good-grade” mentality is directly related to the relentless and often unnecessary tests that our students face in schools. Alfie Kohn in favor of the “exhibition” of learning, where students demonstrate their understanding through in-depth projects, tasks, portfolio and other demonstrations. He cited a model pioneered by Ted Sizer and Deborah Meier. Meier has the interest of the students are five “habits of mind”, which means the value of the questions about the evidence (points out: “How can we know what we know?”), Point of View (“Whose perspective does this?” ), connections (“How is this context that?”), Assumption (“How would things be different?”) and relevance (“Why is it important?”). Kohn writes: It is only the capital raising and answering these questions, questions to do though, but the attitude. In this context, a set of intellectual objectives, any description of what it is to think
deeply and critically, along a reference means to an interest or intrinsic motivation for this kind of thinking … then we are well trained, is the desire and the means to ensure that the learning never stops … History and purpose of IQ

We have always wanted to measure intelligence. Ironically, if you have what the first methods to be used, look in to rate in the 1800s, they were not, well, very intelligent. to submit to tactics like the people to various forms of torture, to see what their threshold for pain (which was more one could resist a shudder, believed to be the more intelligent you are), or testing your ability to detect a high pitch sound The fact that others can not hear. Things have changed. . . or are they? can be no discussion of intelligence or IQ, with no mention of Alfred Binet, a psychologist, French was responsible for the complete basis for the IQ test in 1904. His original intention was a test that students learn to work in France would diagnose. The test results were then used to prepare special programs to help students overcome their academic problems. It was never intended as an absolute measure of intellectual ability can be used. According to Binet, intelligence could not be regarded as a single score. He said that the use of intelligence quotient (IQ) as a definitive statement of the intellectual abilities of a child would be a grave mistake. Moreover, Binet IQ measurement used fear to a child to a permanent “state” to condemn the stupidity, the negative implications for his education and living expenses. The initial interest was in assessing the “mental age” – the average level of intelligence for a person of a certain age. His creation, the Binet-Simon test (originally as “standard”) is the model for future tests of intelligence formed. HH Goddard, director of research at Vineland Training School in New Jersey, Binet works translated into English and encouraged a general application of the Simon-Binet test. Unlike Binet, Goddard intelligence as a solitary, fixed and inborn entity that could be measured. With Lewis Terman published known Stanford University, his final product, in 1916, when the revision of the Stanford Binet-Simon Scale of Intelligence (also known as the Stanford-Binet), became the standard intelligence test in the United States. It is important to note that the misunderstanding about the fact that IQ is fixed and can not be changed. The fact that IQ scores are known to fluctuate – both up and down on his own life. It does not mean that you have more or less intelligent, it simply means that you tested one day better than others. One more thing about IQ tests: They are used for racist purposes, because their import into the U.S. Many of those who believed in the import and refining of these tests that IQ was involved in inherited and is responsible for feeding are the misunderstanding that it is a “fixed” attribute. Many immigrants were tested in 1920 and failed miserably this IQ test. As a result, many of them refused to enter the United States or were in fear of forced sterilization of filling America with inferior “stupid” and “baby. As you know, the tests for white, middle class Americans. Who do you think most problems would be circumvented? Lewis Terman developed the original notion of IQ and proposed this scale for classifying IQ scores: 000 to 070: 070-079 Definite dementia: Borderline deficiency 080-089: 090-109 dullness: Normal or average intelligence, 110-119: 115 -124 superior intelligence above average (eg students) 125-134: Gifted (eg post-graduate students) 135-144: Highly gifted (eg, intellectuals) 145-154: Genius (eg, professors) 155-164: Genius (such as Nobel laureate ) 165-179: 180-200 High genius: Highest genius 200 -? : * Immeasurable Genius Genius IQ is generally begin as about 140 to 145, only 25% of the population (1400). * Einstein was considered “just” an IQ of about 160th FIXING INTELLIGENCE

Diane F. Halpern, a psychologist and former president of the American Psychological Association (APA), wrote in her essay contribution to the Smart Why do people be so stupid that we recognize generally intelligent people, whether a combination of these benefits (1) good grades in school, (2) a high level of education, (3) a responsible and complex task, (4) the recognition of other intelligent, like winning awards or earning a big salary, (5) the ability to understand complex to read texts, (6), to solve difficult and new problems. During my research in the early stages of this article, I came across many definitions of intelligence. Some were long, some short. Some I could not understand them. The definition is that the most common is that of the APA, that is, the ability to adapt to its environment and learn from our mistakes. How about that? It is again the word environment. We just can not seem to escape. This adds deeper meaning of the saying “When in Rome do, do what the Romans do.” It means to recognize what’s going on in your local area, and the intelligence to adapt – and the people to fill those – to survive and succeed in it. There are many different types of intelligence. Most, particularly those by Dr. Howard Gardner, Professor of Education at Harvard University made. Dr. Gardner believes (and I agree) that our schools and culture focus most of their attention on linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence. We look forward very articulate or logical people of our culture. However, Dr. Gardner says that we will pay equal attention to individuals, the gifts in the other intelligences: the artists, architects, musicians, naturalists, designers, dancers, therapists, entrepreneurs and others who enrich the world, we show life. He felt that the traditional notion of intelligence based on IQ tests, was too limited, and created the theory of multiple intelligences in 1983 reflect a broader range of human potential in children and adults. These intelligences are: linguistic intelligence (“Smart-word”), logical-mathematical intelligence (“number / reasoning smart”) Spatial intelligence (“picture smart”) Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence (“body smart”) Musical intelligence (“music smart” ) Interpersonal intelligence (“people smart”) Intrapersonal intelligence (“self smart”) Naturalist intelligence (“nature smart”) is not affiliated with Dr. Gardner, but are also observed: fluid and crystallized intelligence

According to the info. com, psychologist Raymond Cattell’s first proposal of the terms fluid and crystallized intelligence and the theory of John Horn developed. The Cattell-Horn theory of fluid and crystallized intelligence suggests that intelligence is composed a number of different abilities and work together, interact in order to produce all the intelligence of the individual. Cattell fluid intelligence as “… the ability to recognize relationships, independent of previous specific practice or instruction on these connections.” Fluid intelligence is the ability to think abstractly and to reason and solve problems. This force is considered to be independent of learning, experience and training. Examples of the use of fluid intelligence involves puzzle solving and thinking strategies to solve problems. crystallized intelligence is learning from past experiences and learning. Situations require crystallized intelligence include reading comprehension and vocabulary tests. This type of intelligence is based on facts and rooted in experience. This type of intelligence is stronger than we are getting older and new knowledge and understanding. Both types of intelligence throughout the childhood and youth increase. fluid intelligence peaks during puberty and begins to fall gradually to 30 or 40 years. crystallized intelligence continues to grow into adulthood. SUCCESSFUL INTELLIGENCE

Then there’s Successful Intelligence, Yale University professor and psychologist intelligence written, Robert J. Sternberg, who believes the whole concept of IQ on goals in life is out of place, because he believes that IQ predicts a pretty miserable life for success is. His successful intelligence theory focuses on three types of intelligence that
are combined to help ensure success: analytical intelligence, mental steps or components are used to solve problems, Creative Intelligence: With the experience in such a way that the promotion of understanding are (creativity / divergent thinking) and practical intelligence: the ability to read and adapt to the context of everyday life. As for the environment, Mr. Sternberg wrote in his book, “Successful Intelligence: Successfully intelligent people recognize that the environment in which they may be located or not in a position most of their talent search. They actively an environment where they work can not only succeed, but a difference. They create opportunities rather than have the opportunities limited by the conditions under which they are located. As an educator, I subscribe for a successful approach of Mr. Sternberg Intelligence doctrine. It is a very effective tool and the attitude of my students successful. really With Successful Intelligence as the backbone of my context-driven curriculum inspires students to see how to create their lives more education achievable goals, and motivate them to develop their know-how. Mr. Sternberg believes that the most important factor is commitment in the achievement of targeted expertise. Emotional Intelligence

In his 1995 best-selling book “Emotional Intelligence, Daniel Goleman reports that research shows that the conventional measures of intelligence – IQ – only 20% of the success of a person’s life. For example, research and education on IQ indicates that a high IQ 10-25% of classes predicted in school. The speed is depending on how varied we define success. However, Goleman assertion begs the question: what is good for the other 80%? You guessed it. . Emotional intelligence. What exactly is emotional intelligence? Emotional Intelligence (EQ or EI also) refers to the ability to recognize, manage and evaluate emotions. Many companies now have mandatory training EQ to improve it for their managers in an effort to increase employment and productivity. Tacit Knowledge aka “Street Smarts

You’ve heard the expression: “Experience is the greatest teacher …” In psychology circles, knowledge gained from daily experience is tacit knowledge. The informal term street “smarts” that formal education (aka “book smarts” means) has nothing to do. The individual is not directly, to learn what they should be instructed, but to extract the most important lesson from the experience, even if no learning is the primary goal. Tacit knowledge is closely related with the common sense, this is a sound and prudent assessment on a simple observation of the situation or facts are based. As you know, common sense is not so common. Tacit knowledge and the lessons learned from them seems to “stick” faster and better if the lessons are directly relevant to the goals of the individual. The knowledge about their own experiences in practice, probably more instrumental to the achievement of one’s will to knowledge is based on the experience of someone else, or that is too general and abstract. Both SMART and stupid

Yes, it is possible, both intelligent and stupid. I am sure that someone you know comes to mind at this moment. But the goal is not to ridicule, but to understand how some seemingly intelligent and educated people can be so smart to be in a certain way, and unbelievably stupid in others. arrested the woman, a respected, well-paid, dynamic leader who chooses consistently men to be not apparently worthy of her, or the man who does not like a pillar of the community, a loving wife and happy children to become is rape. It happens, but why? I found the answer in Why Smart People can be so stupid. In essence, the intellect is domain specific. In other words, (smart knowledge) in one area of your life, and stupid (ignorant) in another course. Turn your head is quite common especially when it comes to what we want. A common characteristic among those who are smart and stupid, in delaying gratification difficult. Olem Ayduk & Walter Mischel, the chapter Summary: Sometimes smart people wrote stupid behavior from false expectations can cause false beliefs, or simply a lack of motivation to determine control strategies, even if it has them. But sometimes it is impossible for one of the states to regulate emotional and behavioral intentions associated with them, what a stupid and self-destructive behavior. The main character in this book that many of these lessons about smart and dumb revolve around Bill Clinton and his affair with Monica Lewinksky. Wisdom & CONCLUSION

My great-grandmother, Leola Cecil, perhaps an eighth Class education at the most. By no stretch of the imagination, she was highly educated. She was very attentive and was able to “read” people with astonishing accuracy. By the end of her life she was jointly their “crystallized intelligence”, which was susceptible. She died at the age of 94th I have to talk often use many of their statements in public but, most importantly, I use it to ensure philosophies that are mentally and I managed not only intellectually. Many of us, happiness, a good grandparents can attest that there was something special, have their knowledge. They seem to have found life and a talent for helping those of us who are intelligent, educated and intelligent things more clearly if we are too busy. what they have, what we all strive, should end up with if we are lucky: wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to look through a person, while others just look at it. Wisdom slowed thinking and makes it more organic, to synchronize it with intuition. Wisdom helps you make better decisions in relation to decisions, and makes you less judgmental. Wisdom is the understanding, without knowing it, without having to understand and accept. Wisdom is to recognize what is important to other people, and to know that other people are of the utmost importance to you. Wisdom is a starting point and a final conclusion.
